The Harvard Griffin GSAS Office of Culture, Community and Engagement (CCE) participates in and offers various initiatives that provide opportunities for prospective students to network with faculty, staff, and current students from graduate programs. Some of these efforts include:
- Offering information sessions on other campuses
- Hosting student groups for on-campus information sessions
- Holding virtual open houses and information sessions
- Attending national research conferences open prospective applicants
Harvard provides a variety of research opportunities designed to help you gain valuable, hands-on experience. Engaging in research can assist you in determining whether pursuing a PhD is the right path for you. Harvard offers several paid summer internships, among other programs. Please note that the following list highlights only some of the options available.

- Summer Honors Undergraduate Research Program, administered by the Office of Graduate Education at Harvard Medical School
- Other summer programs, run by Harvard departments or Harvard-affiliated teaching hospitals
Harvard Griffin GSAS also offers a post-baccalaureate program, called the Research Scholar Initiative, which enables college graduates to take part in a long-term research experience
