Informational Sessions

The Harvard Griffin GSAS Office of Culture, Community, and Engagement (CCE) welcomes groups of sophomores, juniors, and seniors from accredited undergraduate institutions in the United States to our Cambridge campus for a brief presentation on life as a graduate student at Harvard Griffin GSAS and an overview of the application process.

Our presentation is approximately one hour, followed by a 45–60-minute panel with current graduate students available on a case-by-case basis and contingent on availability. Please note visits are only scheduled on Thursdays and Fridays. A typical agenda may include:

  • PhD programs at Harvard
  • Graduate life at Harvard
  • How to put together a strong application
  • Q&A time

It is important to note that our team are not admissions officers and only general guidance is provided. While we can speak about Harvard Griffin GSAS programs broadly, there is no program- or department-specific information. Visitors interested in specific departments or other Harvard schools, such as Harvard Law School, Harvard Business School, Harvard Medical School, or Harvard Kennedy School of Government, may contact those departments and/or schools directly for visiting information.

All groups are responsible for their transportation and meals before, during, and after the visit.

Visit Requests

All requests for CCE office visit presentations must meet the following criteria:

  • The request must originate from staff or faculty at an accredited undergraduate institution in the United States and/or US territories. Student-run clubs and outside organizations are not eligible.
  • At least one staff or faculty member from the institution must be present at all times during the visit.
  • Group size must be between 8 and 30 people, including chaperons.
  • Requests must be made at least six weeks before the desired date.
