The Summer Institute offers students the opportunity to meet and build social and professional networks with fellow incoming PhD students, staff, and faculty prior to the start of the academic year. The Summer Institute is also an opportunity to experience a preview of graduate school and participate in professional development workshops to ease the transition into graduate school.
All participants will receive a stipend. In addition, in-person participants will receive on-campus housing for the duration of the program, if needed. Both the stipend and housing are conditional on taking part in all required activities and program events. The Summer Institute is open to all incoming Harvard Griffin GSAS PhD students in the life sciences. To express interest in participating in the Summer Institute, please complete this form by May 22, 2026, at 12:00 p.m. EST.
Express Interest in the Summer Institute
Please note that spots in the Summer Institute are limited. We aim to have representation from as many HILS programs as possible, and priority will be given to students who can fully participate in all program sessions and activities.
