Deadline to add or drop a fall course without paying a fee

Fall Harvard University Student Health Insurance Plan late waiver deadline

Degree applications open in my.harvard for a diploma for an advanced degree to be awarded on Tuesday, February 11, 2025. 

Last day students from other Schools may file cross-registration petitions for fall term with the FAS Registrar’s Office. Some schools have earlier deadlines.

University Holiday: Columbus Day (federal); Indigenous Peoples’ Day (City of Cambridge) 

Students who fail to register by this date for a minimum required course load, withdraw from their academic program, or submit an application for non-resident status for the fall 2024 term are subject to disciplinary action and may be placed on an involuntary leave of absence, also known as an administrative

Last day to add (or enroll in) fall 2024 courses. To add a course after this date, an approved Petition to Add must be submitted to the Office of Academic Programs. 

Last day to change to or from SAT/UNS grading option for designated language courses

Degree recommendations from programs are due on Tuesday, October 22, 2024 for a diploma for an advanced degree to be awarded on Tuesday, November 12, 2024.

Spring 2025 Crimson Cart opens in my.harvard

Last day to drop a fall course via my.harvard. To withdraw from a fall course after this date, an approved Petition to Withdraw must be submitted to the Office of Academic Programs.

Course registration opens to allow enrolling in spring 2025 courses

University Holiday: Veterans' Day (observed for staff). Classes are held. Harvard Griffin GSAS Offices are closed.

Conferral date for November 2024 degrees

Spring 2025 full-term course registration for all students due. ​Students must submit enrollments for minimum course load (typically 16 credits) at my.harvard by 11:59 p.m. EST.  

Thanksgiving recess begins on Wednesday, November 27 and ends on Sunday, December 1

Degree applications on my.harvard are due for a diploma for an advanced degree to be awarded on Tuesday, February 11, 2025.

Last day of fall term classes

The fall term reading period begins on Thursday, December 5, and ends on Tuesday, December 10. 

Last day on which students may submit an approved  Petition to Withdraw  from fall term course to the Office of Academic Programs.

The fall term examinations begin on Wednesday, December 11, and end on Friday, December 20.

Winter recess begins on Saturday, December 21, 2024, and ends on Thursday, January 2, 2025. Most University offices closed during recess.

Open add/drop for spring 2025 begins in my.harvard; instructor permission not needed to enroll in courses

January@HarvardGriffinGSAS begins on Monday, January 13, and ends on Friday, January 24.

Dissertations are due on ProQuest ETD by 11:59 p.m. ET on Tuesday, January 14, 2025 for a diploma for an advanced degree to be awarded on Tuesday, February 11, 2025.

University Holiday: Martin Luther King Day

Degree recommendations from programs are due on Tuesday, January 21, 2025 for a diploma for an advanced degree to be awarded on Tuesday, February 11, 2025.

Make-up examinations for last fall term begin on Wednesday, January 22, and end of Thursday, January 23.
