Harvard Griffin GSAS Dialogic Conversations

With the team at Essential Partners, Harvard Griffin GSAS is hosting a series of Dialogic Conversations to engage in critical work to further our continuing, necessary efforts as a community to advance civil discourse.

A core premise of Essential Partners’ approach to dialogue is that conversations can become stuck in destructive patterns that are hard to break, affecting relationships and communities. Essential Partners’ theory of change is that dialogue helps create new patterns of conversation and new habits of communication, and this creates more resilient communities. For Harvard Griffin GSAS, we hope this process will provide us the opportunity to engage in the respectful dialogue and debate so critical to research and academia. Your Essential Partners facilitators, Cara and Tanvi, are looking forward to being in conversation with you.

You can participate in three ways:

Online Survey (approx. 15 minutes)

Submit your responses here

All Harvard Griffin GSAS students are invited to submit their thoughts and insights via an online survey hosted by Essential Partners that will be available from January 26 through February 23, 2024. The questions are similar to those shared in one-on-one interviews and small group conversations and allow you the ability to respond in a timeframe that suits your schedule. You can complete the survey anonymously, or if you’d prefer, you can submit your name and HUID.

One-on-One Interviews (45 minutes)

Request a private one-on-one video or phone call with an Essential Partners facilitator. Themes from your conversation will be aggregated and anonymized. Interviews will be held February 9 through February 23. 20 spots are available on a first-come, first-served basis. Once you sign up, an EP facilitator will contact you to schedule a date and time that is mutually convenient.

Email Cara or Tanvi from Essential Partners directly with any questions or for more information, or you can reach out to Student Affairs at studaff@fas.harvard.edu.

Thank you for taking the time to participate, especially at the beginning of a busy spring term. Your feedback is crucial to the success of this initiative.
