Three Minute Thesis (3MT®) is a competition for doctoral students to develop and showcase their research communication skills in a language appropriate to a non-specialist audience. Students have three minutes to communicate their research with the visual aid of one static slide and win prize money or a lunch with the dean of Harvard Griffin GSAS. 

Last day to change to or from SAT/UNS grading option for designated language courses.

Last day to add (or enroll in) spring 2025 courses. To add a course after this date, an approved Petition to Add must be submitted to the Office of Academic Programs. 

Spring recess begins on Saturday, March 15, 2025, and ends on Sunday, March 23, 2025.

Join Harvard Griffin GSAS and Anthony Abraham Jack, AM ’11, PhD ’16, for a discussion on his recent book, Class Dismissed: When Colleges Ignore Inequality and Students Pay the Price, which explores the deeply rooted systemic inequalities that harm students from disadvantaged backgrounds and how colleges can think critically about ways to support the students they bring to campus.

Reconnect with friends, colleagues, and mentors at Harvard Griffin GSAS Alumni Day. This annual event brings alumni, faculty, students, and friends together to take part in conversations with some of the world’s leading scholars, engage with alumni across the disciplines, and hear from Dean Emma Dench about the early insights from the GAGE implementation process.

Each year, eight PhD candidates are chosen to participate in the Harvard Horizons program to receive in-depth, personalized mentoring and coaching designed to enhance their presentation skills.

Fall 2025 full-term course registration for all students due. ​Students must submit enrollments for minimum course load (typically 16 credits) at my.harvard by 11:59 p.m. EDT.

Spring term reading period begins on Wednesday, April 30, 2025, and ends on Thursday, May 1, 2025.

Last day on which students may submit an approved Petition to Withdraw from spring term course to the Office of Academic Programs.

Spring term examinations begin on Thursday, May 8, 2025, and end on Saturday, May 17, 2025.

Dissertations are due on ProQuest ETD by 11:59 p.m. ET on Thursday, May 15, 2025 for a diploma for an advanced degree to be awarded on Thursday, May 29, 2025.
