Harvard Griffin GSAS Student-Parents Group
The Harvard Griffin GSAS Student-Parents Group aims to enrich the academic experience of and provide visibility to all Harvard Griffin GSAS parents and caregivers. A robust support system for student-parents creates a caring and nurturing environment for the entire Harvard community. It encourages and makes possible a healthy work-life balance for student-parents and attracts a diverse, well-rounded, and mature pool of students.
The Student-Parents Organization provides a supportive community for fellow students with children by hosting free events with tangible benefits and opportunities to meet other parents. Programs include:
- clothing/toy exchanges
- child-friendly events with the Student Center Fellows
- free annual photo shoot with the Harvard Griffin GSAS Photography Society
- Families Brunch, on Wednesday, August 28, 2024, co-hosted with the Harvard Griffin GSAS, welcomes students and their children to graduate school
- panels and work-life balance sessions to provide parenting advice and support

The group also engages in advocacy for student-parent interests. They meet regularly with the Harvard Griffin GSAS administration to seek the implementation of family-friendly policies in a broad range of advocacy areas. They regularly gather data from fellow student-parents through surveys and the FAS Registrar's Office to better understand the needs of members. The group is constantly looking for ways to build a stronger community and better advocate for student-parents.
You can connect with the group through their Engage organization or their private Facebook group.
