Gerard Frabolot
GERARD FRABOLOT AM ’78, geological sciences, currently chairs Crédit X-Mines, a surety institution that intervenes to facilitate the obtaining of loans to students and alumni of École Polytechnique, Mines ParisTech, École Nationale Supérieure des Mines de Saint-Étienne, École Nationale Supérieure des Mines de Nancy, Télécom ParisTech, Télécom Bretagne, École des Ponts ParisTech, and Arts et Métiers ParisTech. He also advises Anaxago, an equity crowdfunding platform in France, specializing in high growth potential companies and chairs Un Jardin d’Hiver, an artistic association devoted to the French classical melody.
Most of his professional activity was as a corporate banker at the Société Générale (SG). His last position was director of global real estate and general secretary of the French Institute of financing real estate professionals. He managed SG branches dedicated to large corporates in the Parisian network. Between 1998–2001, he led the SG Investment banking department that manages the relationships with clients of the sectors of utilities, construction, and metallurgy. He was also director of the implementation of the Basel II regulations for retail banking in France, director of risks of the Paris District, and director of training. Gérard started his professional life as an engineer prospector in Bolivia for the French Mining Prospection Office.
