The Advising Project

What We Do

The Advising Project (TAP) is a multi-faceted initiative dedicated to supporting strong advising relationships at Harvard Griffin GSAS. We work with faculty across all schools and divisions to promote advising strategies grounded in the latest advising and mentoring research. Our team offers workshops for faculty and for students covering key advising skills such as maintaining effective communication, fostering wellbeing, and aligning expectations.

In addition, we provide one-on-one consultations for faculty and students, maintain a suite of advising resources, and collaborate with partners across the university, including the HMS CORE for Mentorship Excellence, the Harvard Griffin GSAS Office of Equity, Diversity, Inclusion & Belonging, and the GSAS Admissions and Graduate Education Working Group
