Recent Grad Night: Cocktails and the Cosmos

January 30, 2025
6:30 p.m. – 9:30 p.m.

An Evening Among the Stars for Recent Graduates of Harvard Griffin GSAS

We invite you to join this special event for recent graduates of Harvard Griffin GSAS at the Harvard College Observatory (HCO), featuring a cosmic-themed cocktail (or mocktail) and a talk from Dr. Alice Booth and Dr. Beatrice Kulterer titled "On the Rocks: The First Frontier for Alcohol in Space." The synthesis of alcohol on Earth is well-known and well-practiced, but what about in space? In this talk, Dr. Booth and Dr. Kulterer will take you on a whirlwind tour of the formation of alcohols in space, from stellar nurseries to comets and even beyond the Milky Way. Sit back as we discover the secrets of the cosmic distillery that we call home.

This event is open to Harvard Griffin GSAS graduates from the last decade (2014–2024) and their guests. The event is 21+; both alcoholic and nonalcoholic options will be available.
