Sheila Thomas

As dean for the Office of Equity, Diversity, Inclusion & Belonging, Sheila Thomas leads strategic planning of diversity, inclusion, and belonging efforts for the 57 PhD programs in Harvard Griffin GSAS. She and her team work with faculty and administrators in each program to build and implement strategic plans, develop and promote inclusive admissions strategies, and help programs cultivate an inclusive environment. She also directs and creates pipeline programs for undergraduates, high school students, and post-baccalaureates and supports graduate students in their journey at Harvard. In her role as special projects advisor, Thomas continues her work with Dean Emma Dench of Harvard Griffin GSAS on various aspects of graduate education including advising and student outcomes.
