Childhood Trauma, Threat Learning, and Mental Health

In this episode of “Dissertation in One Minute”, clinical psychology graduate student Stephanie DeCross discusses her research on how youth exposed to childhood trauma learn about cues that predict threat versus safety and how this impacts mental health. By studying the impact of childhood trauma on the brain, body, and mind, DeCross sheds light on the development of mental health problems in the hope of making treatment and care more effective.
