All graduating students participating in the University-wide Commencement and/or the Harvard Griffin GSAS Diploma Awarding Ceremonies are required to wear the official Harvard regalia as approved by the Harvard University Commencement Office and distributed by Herff Jones. Please read the important notes below to ensure you follow the appropriate guidance when ordering your gown.
Ordering Guidance
- Dual Degree Recipients (MD/PhD, JD/PhD, MS/MBA): Select "Dual Degree" as your School to ensure you receive the appropriate gown.
- PhD Degree Recipients: Select "Harvard Griffin GSAS" as your School to ensure you receive the appropriate dark blue crow's feet on your regalia. This includes PhD candidates in Education, Business, and SEAS.
- SEAS Master's Degree Recipients: Select "Harvard School of Engineering and Applied Sciences" as your School to ensure you receive the appropriate orange crow's feet on your regalia. All other Harvard Griffin GSAS master's degree candidates should select "Harvard Griffin GSAS" to receive the appropriate white crow's feet.

To ensure delivery in time for Commencement, please place your custom regalia orders by April 1, 2026.
Renting
Rental regalia is available to graduates with shipping options to your mailing address or to the Harvard Square COOP bookstore. To ensure delivery in time for Commencement, please place your orders by April 10, 2026.
Pickup & Returns
If you shipped your regalia to the bookstore, you can pick it up on Wednesday, May 20, from 10:00 a.m. to 6:00 p.m. at the Harvard Square COOP, 1400 Massachusetts Ave, Cambridge, MA 02138.
If you placed a late order or miss this pickup day, you can still pick up your regalia at the COOP anytime during business hours from Monday, May 25, through Commencement Day, Thursday, May 28.
If you rented your regalia, you may return it to the Harvard Square COOP between Thursday, May 28, and Thursday, June 4. Alternatively, you may ship your rental gown directly back to Herff Jones using their online portal.
