Practice Presentations

Gain feedback on presentations—conference papers, dissertation defenses, job talks, and more.

The Fellowships & Writing Center provides feedback on various types of presentations—from conference papers to poster talks, dissertation defenses, job talks, and more. We evaluate your content (e.g., structure and argumentation), style (e.g., clarity, cadence, engagement with audience), and use of visuals (e.g., effectiveness of slides). During the academic year, students may book a slot  for practice presentations on Fridays from 1:00 p.m.–4:00 p.m. ET (1:00 p.m–3:00 p.m. for humanities and social sciences students, and 3:00 p.m.–4:00 p.m. for STEM students).

During the summer and winter breaks, please email us at gsas-fwc@fas.harvard.edu to schedule an appointment. In your email, please include your department, the type of talk you are giving, the times that will work for you, whether you prefer to give the talk in person or over Zoom, and any other information that you think will be helpful for us to know.
