The Harvard Kenneth C. Griffin Graduate School of Arts and Sciences (Harvard Griffin GSAS) partners with schools across Harvard to offer PhD programs in the social sciences. Each program offers students a funding package that meets their needs through a combination of tuition grants, stipends, traineeships, teaching fellowships, and research assistantships. Your financial aid officer collaborates with your program administrators to administer your funding throughout your time at Harvard Griffin GSAS. If you have questions about your funding, we recommend that you email both your financial aid officer and your department administrator.
Upon admission, students receive a Notice of Financial Support that outlines funding for the duration of their program. Typically, students receive support for tuition, the health fee and health insurance, subsidies to offset the cost of transportation and dental insurance, and living expenses. Amounts vary.
