Dennis E. Vaccaro, PhD ’78, medical sciences, is co-founder and chairman of BioPhysics Assay Laboratory, which develops and manufactures nano-particles for stem cell therapy, regenerative medicine, molecular imaging, and theranostics. His company also has a series of new diagnostic tests for renal disease and advanced technology for making regional blood flow measurements. He founded Symbiontics, a company focused on using microbes that normally grow in the human body for disease therapy. Vaccaro is the author of numerous reports and books on emerging drug discovery technology and has been the recipient of NIH SBIR grants. Vaccaro is a past appointed director of the Harvard Alumni Association and a past chair of the Alumni Committee of the Harvard Division of Medical Sciences.
