DENNIS E. VACCARO, PhD ’78, medical sciences, is co-founder and chairman of BioPhysics Assay Laboratory, which develops and manufactures nanoparticles for vascular imaging and cell tracking, diagnostic tests for renal function, and regional blood flow measurements. He founded Symbiontics, a company focused on using the microbiome for disease therapy. Vaccaro is the author of numerous reports and books on emerging drug discovery technology and has been the recipient of NIH SBIR grants. He is a past appointed director of the Harvard Alumni Association and a past chair of the Alumni Committee of the Harvard Division of Medical Sciences.
