Update on Coronavirus (COVID-19)

Dear Students,

As we hear more about the spread of the Coronavirus Disease (COVID-19), I want to reiterate Harvard University Health Services’ guidance about steps we can all take to reduce infection. In particular, washing hands and avoiding touching your eyes, nose, and mouth are recommended. If you have recently been in an area of high concern for COVID-19, you should follow HUHS instructions regarding the completion of a secure and confidential health form.

If you are experiencing flu-like symptoms, you should call HUHS at 617-495-5711 (24/7) for advice, or your primary care provider if you do not receive your care at HUHS.

While the University has been communicating regularly with the Harvard community, I know that many of you have questions specific to GSAS. We are developing a web page to answer many of those questions; I will be in touch shortly when the information is live on the GSAS website.

In the meantime, please continue to read the University messages you receive, review the Harvard Coronavirus website, and, most importantly, take care of yourselves and one another.

All best wishes,

Emma Dench
Dean of the Graduate School of Arts and Sciences
McLean Professor of Ancient and Modern History and of the Classics
