Fire Safety
- Report all fires to 617-495-5560 or 617-495-1212 immediately.
- Never enter a room that is smoke-filled or if the door is warm to the touch.
- As a reminder, cooking, especially unattended cooking, is the leading cause of residential fires/alarms.
R.A.C.E Protocol
- Relocate: When you discover a fire, stop what you are doing and relocate people in immediate danger if you can do so without endangering yourself.
- Alarm: Activate a fire pull-station (located near fire exits).
- Confine: Close all doors as you exit, if time permits. Closing doors will segment the space, reducing the rate of fire spread.
- Evacuate: Evacuate via a safe fire exit and stand well away from the building (even during inclement weather). Never ride an elevator during a building-wide emergency.
