LUKE BRUNEAUX, PhD, ’13, physics, is a healthcare data scientist and entertainment entrepreneur. At Harvard, Luke investigated bet-hedging strategies in the bacterial genome at the FAS Center for Systems Biology. Previously, Luke earned his MSc, physics, at the University of Chicago, and AB summa cum laude, physics, at the University of Pennsylvania. While at Harvard, Luke was an active cast member at ImprovBoston in Central Square.

Luke’s focus in healthcare is the application of data science and analytics to improve overall patient experience, especially those enrolled in Medicaid and Medicare. Luke became an expert in healthcare data as an engineer at athenahealth in Watertown, then served as director of data quality & analytics at the Rhode Island Healthcare Information Exchange, providing data transparency to the state’s patients, providers and insurers. He is currently director of data science at Decision Point Healthcare in Boston, increasing member engagement for insurers nationwide. 

A lifelong devotee of music and theater, Luke co-owns a comedy venue, Kismet Improv, with his wife Taylor in Pawtucket, RI, where they present nationally recognized comedians as well as a strong community of students and performers of improv.

Luke split his time growing up in Rhode Island and Morocco. He is fluent in French and English.
