Jill Becker

JILL S. BECKER, PhD '03, chemistry, is the CEO of SparkNano, which develops and supplies spatial atomic layer deposition equipment for energy, OLED and related applications. She is the former CEO of Kebotix, a technology platform company for newly AI-discovered chemicals and materials. Previously, Jill founded two successful tech companies, 02139 & Cambridge NanoTech. Bootstrapped from her PhD thesis in 2003, they became instantly profitable and were acquired by Ultratech Inc. in 2012.

Passionate about entrepreneurship, Becker serves as an Entrepreneur-in-Residence at local universities, guiding researchers in commercializing their innovation and raising capital. She mentors technology and life sciences companies, facilitates fundraising for nonprofits, and advises multiple venture funds and companies. Becker holds an Hon D.Sc. in Chemistry from the University of Toronto and earned her master's and PhD degrees in chemistry from Harvard University, complementing her deep expertise in technology.

She is a member of the Young Presidents' Organization (YPO) and has been recognized with awards such as the Ernst and Young Entrepreneur of the Year in Energy and Materials. In her spare time, she loves to travel and spend time with her friends and family. Like most chemists, Jill is also a foodie and deeply appreciates haute gastronomy.
