HILLARY ANGER ELFENBEIN, AB ’93, AM ’01, statistics, and PhD ’01, organizational behavior, is the John and Ellen Wallace Distinguished Professor at the Olin Business School at Washington University in St. Louis, where she has worked since 2008.  She completed a doctoral degree in organizational behavior jointly between psychology and business, a master’s degree in statistics, and undergraduate degrees in physics and Sanskrit language, all from Harvard. She previously served on faculty at the University of California, Berkeley, as a Senior Researcher at the Harvard Business School, and as a management consultant with the Monitor Group in Cambridge, MA. She has published in the top journals of psychology and management, and her work is written up in Psychology 101 and AP Psychology textbooks. Her nonprofit board service includes Nine PBS (the St. Louis affiliate), the Goldfarb School of Nursing, Planned Parenthood of Great Rivers, and the Harris-Stowe State University Foundation, among others. She is currently president of the Harvard Club of St. Louis and a working stand-up comedian, in addition to raising two sons and a dog.
