Shannon McCarthy received her PhD in Biological Sciences in Public Health from Harvard University, where she studied the immune microenvironment of early skin cancer. Aside from being a scientist, Shannon also wrote and edited for a scientific magazine as an undergraduate. Her experience as both a scientist and a writer has driven her to care deeply about communicating scientific content in a way that’s accessible to any reader. She’s excited to help graduate students communicate their work this year. In her free time, Shannon loves running on the Charles, traveling and considers herself an amateur sfoglina.
