USEFUL LINKS

The Academic Resource Center (ARC) is committed to empowering students to reach their full academic potential in an inclusive and equitable environment. Through academic coaching, accountability groups, workshops, and panel discussions, the ARC helps graduate students identify and practice the skills and metacognitive strategies they need to make the most of a rigorous academic experience and to develop as researchers and scholars. The ARC applies its proactive, skills-based approach to topics important to graduate students, including time management, organization, goal setting, scheduling for long-term projects, connecting to support resources, reading strategically, and developing habits to improve their academic lives and ensure balance.

Through one-on-one and group coaching, ARC Academic Coaches assist students in leveraging their strengths and developing strategies tailored to their individual needs. They also serve as sounding boards, helping graduate students navigate challenges such as communicating with advisors, responding to critical feedback, and balancing the demands of research and writing with responsibilities like teaching, family obligations, or job searches.
