The Petey Greene Program (PGP) at GSAS supplements education in correctional facilities by serving as tutors and teaching assistants (TAs) to incarcerated students. Through tutoring and serving as a TA, PGP at GSAS hopes to assist incarcerated students in achieving their academic goals and develop strong relationships between correctional facilities, universities, and communities. PGP at GSAS also seeks to form a community of individuals in GSAS committed to re-imagining the criminal justice system. The activities of PGP at GSAS focus primarily on volunteer tutoring and serving as a TA, but also include raising awareness of the importance of education in correctional facilities and criminal justice reform.
