Reinier Beeuwkes, COL ’62, PhD ’70, medical sciences, served on the full-time faculty at Harvard Medical School for 11 years after receiving his degree. Since then he has been active in both educational and business worlds, holding adjunct and visiting appointments and heading cardiovascular and renal pharmacology at Smith Kline and French. As an entrepreneur, Beeuwkes co-founded and is an officer of several companies, primarily in medical products. He has had the privilege of serving GSAS through this Council for more than 25 years. He has been Chairman, HAA Director, and member of committees extending back to the entry of GSAS into Dudley House. He still holds an academic appointment at Harvard. With his wife Nancy he lives at “October Farm” (circa 1740) in Concord, Massachusetts.
