Several weeks ago, I wrote to encourage you to participate in the Harvard Student Survey on Sexual Assault and Misconduct, which is being administered by Westat, a social science research firm. For those of you who have already completed the survey, I thank you. For those who have not yet participated, I encourage you to do so as soon as possible by following the instructions in the email you received. Participation is voluntary, and the information gathered is crucial to our work in providing a healthy, safe, and nondiscriminatory environment at Harvard.
The closing date for the survey is April 30, so it is important to hear from you as soon as possible. The survey is mobile friendly, and you can access it from your phone or tablet. If you have any questions about the survey or have difficulty accessing it, please email CampusClimateHelp@westat.com or call 1-855-497-4787. You can read more about the survey, including an FAQ, at titleix.harvard.edu/survey.
Only 31% of GSAS students have complete the survey so far. In 2015, 52% of our students completed the survey. Student feedback from the 2015 survey guided the development and enhancement of policies that improved the experiences of GSAS students. Please ensure that your voice is included this year by completing this important survey.
With all best wishes,
Dean of the Graduate School of Arts and Sciences
McLean Professor of Ancient and Modern History and of the Classics
