GSAS is pleased to announce the appointment of Danielle Farrell as assistant director of student affairs. Farrell joins the Office of Student Affairs team from the Harvard Division of Continuing Education (DCE), where she served as a student case manager and a Title IX coordinator. Before coming to Harvard, she worked as a residence hall director, Title IX investigator, and conduct hearing officer at the Massachusetts College of Art and Design and as a social worker with the Department of Veterans Affairs.

“I’m delighted that Danielle has taken on this important student-facing position, which is an essential resource at GSAS,” says Garth McCavana, dean for student affairs. “I know the experience she gained at DCE will greatly benefit our students.”

In her new role, Farrell will work closely with Seth Avakian, program officer for Title IX and professional conduct, who is also a Title IX coordinator for GSAS. “I’m thrilled to already be partnering with Danielle on supporting students,” says Avakian, “as well as designing and delivering educational workshops, and I look forward to learning from her previous experience at DCE.”

Farrell holds a bachelor’s degree in psychology and a master of clinical social work from Michigan State University. “I am looking forward to getting to know GSAS students and to working with them on a variety of projects, including departmental Title IX training,” says Farrell.

Students can contact Farrell at farrell@fas.harvard.edu or 617-495-1326.
